The Tuned In Academy

Welcome Sarah!

We are very excited to announce that TIA now has our very own board certified Music Therapist right here in Olympia.  We have been wanting and seeking out a music therapist since early on at TIA as it directly serves our mission. Sarah Augustine will be joining our team as both a Music Therapist and Faculty member. In addition to being a licensed, certified, and experienced music therapist, Sarah is also a trained and accomplished vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.

Sarah Augustine, Music Therapist

Sarah was born and raised in Greenville, Ohio and completed her undergraduate studies at The College of Wooster. Sarah completed her music therapy internship requirement at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, FL before moving to Washington State. Sarah has been working at a psychiatric inpatient but is excited to join The Tuned In Academy family and share her love of music.

Like all of our team members, Sarah has gone through a very thorough process that involves a formal interview, audition, team interview with multiple TIA team members, and careful reference checks. Sarah is not just highly capable and qualified, but a great fit with TIA, our mission, and our values.  Sarah comes highly endorsed by her peers, supervisors, and mentors.

Music therapy is a unique, research proven, effective, and beautiful therapeutic treatment that meets real needs in people. For more details on music therapy and what it has done and can do, see some of the links below. Sarah looks forward to working with south sound individuals and families to develop personalized plans to meet their emotional, mental health, and other goals.

Sarah is already booking fast! She currently has openings after 5:30 on Monday and Wednesday evenings for private lessons and mew music therapy clients, but also had three families in line already for music therapy as soon as she starts (she will start next month).
