Ukulele, Guitar, Piano, and Voice

Angelia is one of our Associate faculty. Angelia has been a stellar student teacher (ukulele, guitar, piano and voice) for over three years and is now a high school graduate and an adult. The daughter of SD & Jenna, Angelia has been studying music her whole life.

Piano

Angelia began studying piano at the age of five, like so many of our students, and studied formally with both SD and Jenna all the way through high school. An accomplished pianist, Angelia is formally trained and also uniquely equipped at piano accompaniment for vocalists, self-accompaniment for the vocalist, and piano as a songwriting tool.

Guitar and Ukulele

Angelia began studying the guitar at TIA under Rob Comer, one of our board members and our first guitar teacher at TIA. She also studied under Ben Vincent (our first student guitar teacher), and Thomas Magnuson. Angelia proved herself to be one of our most advanced guitar students early on, knowing the guitar extremely well, and well-versed in guitar as an accompaniment instrument for vocalists and songwriting as well.

Angelia sought out to learn the ukulele on her own. When she first began that journey, we did not have a ukulele teacher at TIA, but taking her knowledge and theory of piano, guitar, and music itself, she quickly became a highly capable ukulele player and now teaches it to students all the time. If you want to learn the ukulele not just a little three or four chord instrument, but as a serious instrument for real music making (which it is), Angelia would love to work with you.

Voice

Angelia has been singing and studying voice as long as she can remember. Not only is Angelia a formally trained vocalist well-versed in musical theater, classical, and popular music, but she is also a songwriter.

Angelia, who is nearly 19, is under the mentoring of TIA faculty. She has been a part of TIA from the beginning and has served as a mentor and leader in vocal and instrumental classes. Students love studying with Angelia! She is sharp, fun, and highly capable as a musician and educator and one of our busiest faculty members. When she is not playing or teaching music, Angelia is out serving as Miss Cherry Blossom and working towards her goal of becoming Miss Washington! If your daughter is interested in the Miss Washington and Miss America Pageant system, Angelia would surely be happy to share her experience. She is always on stage presenting her music as a part of that system as well.

Angelia is not accepting new students at this time.
