Jenna McGoran, Faculty of Voice and Piano

Vocal Music and Piano

Jenna is a seasoned musician and master educator with over twenty-five years of experience teaching music. She began her musical journey at age five studying piano. By age eleven, she began studying voice. Soon after, she picked up the flute, trumpet, and guitar.

Piano

Jenna studied piano formally and privately all the way through high school. As a vocalist and songwriter, Jenna has always been at the keys accompanying herself, writing music, and recording piano tracks for her own production. Jenna is a versatile pianist with formal training, but also with the unique ability to help vocalists and songwriters that want to learn how to play piano as a compositional tool, for accompaniment, and for recording.

Voice

Throughout her high school years, Jenna took every opportunity to perform as a vocalist in musicals, clubs, restaurants, and with the American Music Abroad throughout Europe. In her senior year of high school, Jenna was accepted into the Harrisburg Arts Magnet School where she was able to engage in a highly focused musical education. It was at HAMS that she had the opportunity to study in depth the art of Musical Theatre, which would become a passion of hers.

Jenna also studied at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) where she studied both performance and songwriting with an emphasis in voice. At Berklee she studied with renowned musicians and performers, including Livingston Taylor, Pat Pattison, Jon Aldrich, and Larry Watson. Jenna taught elementary music and choir at Christian Faith School in Seattle, and has taught privately for over twenty years.

Songwriting and Production

Jenna has been writing music as long as she can remember. In addition to studying songwriting formally at Berklee, Jenna has also studied writing, recording, and production for sync (film, television, and advertising). In fact, one of her newest tracks made in collaboration with our good friend Jonathan Waller just aired on a network television program this spring. You can also hear Sean-David playing all the horns on it. Jenna is regularly collaborating with other writer producers and stays tuned in to the commercial songwriting circuit as well through engaging in conferences and meetings.

You can hear some of her latest work here, here, and on Spotify.

Jenna, like many of our faculty, is slammed, but she has ONE spot available at 4PM on Mondays. Get it
