Recorder!

Did you know that the recorder has a long and rich history as a serious musical instrument with great capabilities, beautiful and delicate nuances in sound, and has been featured in wonderful repertoire?

Recorder

Once upon a time the recorder was a valued and honored instrument with beautiful music written for it. Then it sadly became known primarily as something only children played in elementary music classes. And it is great for that too! But the recorder is a beautiful instrument that can be a ton of fun, and yet is easily one of the most affordable and accessible instruments, certainly true among wind instruments.

Here is a brief history of the recorder, and it is quite descriptive and accurate, though we would argue that the recorder is however easier to play than the flute. Here is a beautiful Vivaldi concerto for recorder.

And a really cool folk piece featuring the recorder.

Would you like to get your kids learning to blow recorder? Give us a call! Both Carol and SD teach recorder and private lessons and group classes are available during the daytime hours. Private lessons are just $95 monthly, group classes are just $60 monthly and we just need three to four or five to make a class.
