One Size Doesn’t Fit All When it Comes to Bands and Band Music

Music is not a one size fits all thing.

One size does not fit all label

This is especially true when you are speaking of a band or ensemble. Smaller bands like those in smaller private schools, small public schools, or homeschool groups that have only a handful of each instrument and may be missing instruments or sections completely would be at a real disadvantage trying to make music from an arrangement intended for a full concert band.

Forcing to fit

The result could be frustrating and maybe even discouraging.

One of the beautiful things about having conservatory qualified educators with training, experience, and passion for composition at TIA is that we are happy to write music and arrangements tailor fit to the needs of our students and groups. It is a lot of fun to write specifically for a group, and it is great for the students as well. This means rather than trying to fumble through an arrangement missing important parts, everyone gets to play an essential role in the music, and nothing is missing.
