Just in time for summer, enroll your child (7-10) in Violin Lab for Beginners with Daniel, a young, fun, and passionate musician-educator with a Masters degree from Sacramento School of Music. Daniel is new to Olympia, but not new to teaching. He was an instrumental part of the String Project at Sacramento State School of Music and we are super excited for him to be joining the team and starting next month!

Violin Lab will meet 3:30-4PM Fridays and tuition is just $60 monthly! Class size is limited to FOUR seats, so enroll your children today and we will start as soon as the class is full.

THESE CLASSES ARE FOR BEGINNERS
Perfect for kids 7-10, drum lab is fun, a great little community environment, and an excellent and affordable gateway into music and drumming! Conservatory quality instruction by a conservatory trained professional working musician who is also a caring and highly effective teacher. Tuition is just $60 monthly, nearly half of what you would pay for private lessons in many places. Drum lab meets weekly and is ongoing.
 
 
 

Wind Lab with SD

Wind players, are you looking for something to do this summer? An opportunity to keep working on your horn, learning new music, maybe even make some friends? Enroll in our Wind Lab that meets Fridays 2:15-2:45. Perfect for students that know at least a few of their major scales ideally, and can read music at least at a second or third year level (6th or 7th grade and up).
 
SD has over 25 years of experience teaching music, and is a graduate of Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) where he studied jazz composition and performance with jazz greats like Phil Wilson, Greg Hopkins, Jeff Stout, Lin Biviano, and Hal Crook. “SD” also studied jazz improvisation privately with Jerry Bergonzi (world-renowned jazz artist and educator) for over a year and a half while in Boston. SD served six years in the U.S. Army Bands both in the US and in Korea. SD is otherwise on a waitlist, so if you are a horn player and want to study with SD, this is it! Get in the lab!

Summer Piano Lab with SDParents, are you looking for something for your kids to do this summer? Enroll them now in SD’s Summer Piano Lab! Perfect for Beginners ages 7-10! Tuesdays at 5PM, starting July 6! This 5PM class is a perfect timeslot for students so they can continue in the fall when school starts back up. SD (our director) teaches over one hundred piano students a week and is our busiest piano teacher, he loves to teach all students!  And his piano students do exceedingly well. Some of our labs under SD’s direction have been together for years!

*Note to Parents: You know your children best, Violin Lab, Drum Lab, and Piano Lab do require basic music notation reading. We will teach your kids to do this, but it does take focus, tracking, and a bit of work/practice at home. Songwriting for Musicians with Jenna

Songwriting for Musicians with Jenna
Come study songwriting the with a Berklee College of Music graduate who has over 25 years of experience writing and recording music! Jenna is actively and regularly engaged in writing and recording music for film, TV, and advertising, and you can hear some of her most recent projects here. Have fun, study and analyze songs by the greats, write as an individual and as a part of a group, and have a blast! This is a class for musicians, you must have a basic working knowledge of music, preferably piano or guitar. The ability to chord is beneficial, but not essential.
 
Tuition is just $60 monthly for this Songwriting Lab (30 minutes weekly lab)! We will limit class size to four students in person for the maximum safety and social distancing with Covid, but you can also participate online from anywhere in the world. Class will meet Tuesdays 4-4:30. 2020-2021 have been rough times for so many, but this spring and summer have not yet been written! Write your own spring and summer! Music Production Lab with Eric!

Music Production Lab with EricDo you have a desire to learn about music production? Do you own a Mac but have no clue how to use a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as GarageBand? Enroll in Music Production (GarageBand) Lab with Eric!

A Mac is all you need to get started. Eric will teach you, hands on, the basic music production fundamentals using Garageband and/or Logic Pro. In this course, you will learn how to bring your creativity and songs to life! You will learn what a DAW is and how you can write, incorporate loops, make beats, edit, mix and produce your own music. Eric will also teach you the basic gear needed to start your own home studio!
 
Class will start July 9 and meet Fridays 3-4PM. Tuition is just $100 monthly (plus a one time $20 registration fee)! Ideal for ages 13 and up, with exceptions. Enroll today! Class is limited to six students!

Private Lessons in Vocal Music, Hip Hop, Rap, and Music Production

Eric Sanchez, Associate Faculty

 
Eric is enrolling now for private lessons in vocal music, hip hop, and rap (in English or Spanish). Eric is an independent Latin singer, songwriter and music producer. He was born in Puerto Rico and raised as an Army brat traveling the world. In 2000, Eric joined the U.S. Air Force and deployed 2 times under Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. During his military service, Eric always sang the national anthem at events and even won 1st place at a morale event call “Desert Idol” while deployed in Kuwait. This allowed him to open up for the elite Air Force performance band called Tops in Blues where he was immediately offered a spot after his performance. Eric has recorded 1 album and multiple singles. He is diverse in multiple genres but has a passion for Hip Hop, R&B and Latin music. He also currently serves as a Worship Leader and pastoral elder for the worship team at Life Center Spanish Church in Tacoma, WA. You can here some of Eric’s music here.
