Learning Music is a Personal Thing

Learning music is a personal thing There are many professional musicians and even non-professional musicians or those that make their living primarily by another means that teach music. Many of them are capable music teachers, and some may even be great music teachers.  But there are tragically countless musicians that teach music because they need the extra income, want to make some more cash, or because someone asked them to.

Everyone needs to make a living, and times are tough. We get that, and we support musicians providing for themselves and their families! But learning music is such a personal thing, such an important part of life’s journey, and should be inviting, comfortable, fun, challenging, and effective! To that end, don’t take lessons from someone just because they are a popular musician or even a great musician, but find a teacher that makes you feel welcome, find a teacher that makes you feel comfortable, that you enjoy spending time with, that is relational, that can unpack the music in a way that makes sense to you, that you get—and that helps you learn, progress, and improve as a musician.

These are major points of focus for us at TIA. We are all musicians, more importantly though when it comes to you the parent or the music student, we are all committed to your lifelong journey of learning music. So drop us a line today and let us guide you on the journey!
