And of course, we are just as committed to always growing as educators and as people too. In fact, we could never aspire to be great music educators if we weren’t first committed to being lifelong music students. We could never aspire to be great musicians or great educators if we didn’t first aspire to be people committed to growing as humans.

I am super proud of our team. Molly, one of our outstanding vocal faculty, has been in my adult piano lab for I think about a year now. She is doing great! She is a highly educated and trained vocalists, but before the class did not have formal piano training. She’s now learning, growing, and already playing some great piano! I understand now she is thinking of picking up the guitar or the ukulele. Jenna, another one of our outstanding voice (and piano faculty) has just completed a rigorous professional training program for writing and producing music for television, film, and advertising and has some of her music currently being pitched. Micaiah, one of our newest faculty members, primarily a guitarist and singer songwriter, has been working very hard on honing her piano chops and picking up the ukulele.

Jordan has picked up ukulele since coming to TIA, is honing is guitar chops and teaching guitar now, and will begin teaching bass tomorrow. Jordan is always practicing his drums and piano, constantly challenging himself. Chris, another one of our associate faculty is now a student at Berklee College of Music and is working on his writing and production skills and is always practicing guitar and piano. Thomas has picked up the mandolin and the banjolele and is working up proficiency on both. Angelia of course, our student teacher, taught herself ukulele years ago and is our primary uke teacher because she really knows the instrument above and beyond. She is also currently working through the very last (and very challenging) book in the Alfred’s Piano Library Course.

Always committed to growing. As people. As musicians. As educators. That’s our team.
