Virtual Study with TIA: Arkansas to Arizona & New York to Nisqually

Hearing the music: Here's how virtual music lessons will impact local students this fall | Williamsburg Yorktown Daily

Why study virtual with The Tuned In Academy? Surely you have seen countless advertisements for virtual music lessons on Facebook, Instagram, and the greater web as a whole, and for good reason! Of course when Covid-19 hit the world, everything moved to online and virtual, mask mandates were instated—and virtual lessons were a necessity and a reality for so many, and for others, they remain a choice.

There are many beautiful advantages of virtual lessons that are imortant to consider as you choose with whom and how you will study or enroll your children in music study:

  1. With virtual lessons, you are not limited to local teachers, and there may be better, more capable, qualified, and personable teachers elsewhere.
  2. With virtual lessons, you or your children can learn in the environment best for you (home, office, home studio, even perhaps your church).
  3. With vuirtual lessons, you can learn on your piano, your drumset, or on your setup (for a guitarist for example this may mean on your guitar, with your amp and pedal board, etc.). This can be really helpful if you want help getting your gear and setup just right.

We have virtual students learning, growing, and making great musical strides in Arkansas and Arizona, New York and Nisqually—even right here in Olympia, and some that probably live down the street from our studio!

Something to chew on though, is your virtual teacher just a virtual teacher, or do they teach music in a reputable studio, school, or academy? Do they teach to make a few extra bucks, or because they love and are called to teach? Do they teach on a whim, or are they committed to a set of core values and a mission? At TIA, all of our teachers teach not because we have to, but because we want to. In fact, most of us are busy professionals in the field working in performance, production, writing, directing, and so forth. But we teach because it is a part of who we are. We are also not just a bunch of individual teachers, but a non-profit academy of music, a team, held together as we commit to living our core values and mission. And TIA is a 501(c)3 non-profit academy.

All of our faculty go through a careful process that includes a multiple step interview and audition process that looks not just at their musical ability, but their personhood (who they are as people), their level of personal enegagement in conversation and teaching, yes their musical ability, technical and theoretical knowledge, and their professionalism, as well as a 3 point reference check (professional, personal, and musical).

At TIA we are also committed to ongoing training, development, and growth, and we meet about that a handful of times a year.

With TIA you are studying with a respected, established, and valued non-profit music academy. Just read the reviews for yourself. Most of these are taken from Google, feel free to look there as well. We would love to chat with you about how you can harness the power of technology for your own personal enrichment, or for the growth and development of your children. We teach all instruments and still have some great spots open, so enroll now and start to play!
