We believe strongly that music is not just an extra-curricular program or something that kids, or anyone for that matter just do. We believe music is essential. Music is so important for our learning, growth, development, mental health, and well-being as people, and as a community.

This last year we have been able to scholarship 8 students to music study at TIA continuously on a month to month basis. This means 8 students that otherwise would not be able to study music in such a way have been afforded the opportunity for personal, one on one interaction (or small group master class) with a highly trained, encouraging, professional, and personal music mentoring on a weekly basis. These students have also participated in our presentations (4 a year), many of them Festival, an adjudication opportunity in the nation’s largest non-profit organization promoting and supporting American music performers and music education, and many other events and opportunities. They are a part of the TIA family and community, and they are thriving and growing, as musicians, and as people.

We would so love to be able to scholarship so many more, and to even recruit students in need. This includes children and adults. We would love to be able to serve more veterans in need of music therapy to help with PTSD, phantom pain, and other struggles. We would love to help those enrolled in recovery programs needing therapeutic outlets, more students with autism whose families may not be able to afford it, young children that love music and really need music education in a program that provides conservatory quality education but simply can’t afford it. And we can, with your help. Would you consider a monthly support to our scholarship fund of any amount? How about $5 a month? That’s probably just a bit more than your regular coffee order. And 15 donations of that amount would provide a full scholarship to at least one student with one of our associate or student faculty. Of course you can give any amount.
